Professeur émérite du Département de génie mécanique de l'UQTR. Titulaire d'un baccalauréat en physique du génie, d'une maîtrise en génie mécanique et d'un doctorat en métallurgie de l'Université Laval, il est cotitulaire de la chaire DIVEL en navigation intelligente de véhicules autonomes industriels. Ses champs d'expertise couvrent les piles à combustible et la gestion des véhicules hybrides, la conversion des moteurs à combustion vers les carburants renouvelables, la programmation temps réel et les techniques d'optimisation.
