DC fast charging places considerable power demands on the distribution grid. This project develops convex optimization methods to size and operate battery energy storage systems that shave these peaks, respect grid capacity limits and reduce costs related to power-based tariffs.

The models, developed in Python with the CVXPY library, are applied to real electricity consumption data, EV charging sessions and demand profiles. They enable the exploration of energy management strategies and battery sizing for fast-charging infrastructure.
